Holy Land Experience

In 2007 this interesting attraction was bought by the Trinity Broadcasting Network.

Holy Land Experience took twelve years to go from concept to completion. Great care has been taken to make sure each detail accurately conforms to the Bible and biblical history.

When you step through the gates of Holy Land Experience you will be immersed in the Jerusalem Street Market where you can purchase everything from shirts, hats and stuffed camels to hand crafted items, Bibles, and inspirational books and tapes.

Next you will enter the Wilderness Tabernacle through a reproduction of a Bedouin tent that is home to the preshow. Once inside you will see a dramatic and biblically accurate sit down, fully automated multimedia presentation about ancient Israels priesthood and their sacrificial system. The show runs approx. 20 minutes and is the most technologically advanced production at Holy Land.

The Qumran Dead Sea Caves are a detailed recreation of the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947, after being hidden on the western side of the Dead Sea during the first century A.D.

Calvarys Garden Tomb and garden features a tomb, carved into the garden bedrock, and is an authentic replication of the actual tomb of Jesus in Jerusalem. Rolled to the side is the stone that once sealed the tomb to reveal an empty tomb. Throughout the day, musicians, speakers, and performers depict the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

The Plaza of the Nations is a breath-taking stone courtyard surrounded with 30 columns crowned with gold-colored capitals, facing the six-story Temple of the Great King. The courtyard and the 13 steps at the entrance to the Temple are used for regularly scheduled concerts and biblical drama reenactments.

The Temple of the Great King is a one-half scale representation of the Jerusalem Temple that stood at Mount Moriah in first century A.D. The simulated white Jerusalem limestone and gold-colored filigree on the building reflect the afternoon sun, and in the evening floodlights bathe the Temples exterior making this section of Holy Land one of the most beautiful. Inside of the Temple is the Theater of Life is a sit-down, 20 minute film, The Seed of Promise", that was shot in Israel exclusively for Holy Land and is enhanced with a variety of special effects to put guests into the film. The film includes scenes of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, the crucifixion, resurrection and second coming of Christ, and more.

As guests exit the Theater of Life they will step out onto the Byzantine Cardo (the main Byzantine Road), which leads to the facility that houses the worlds largest model of first century Jerusalem, the Shofar Auditorium. The model is 45 foot long by 25 foot wide and is a historically accurate reproduction of the city of Jerusalem, circa A.D. 66, including the ancient Temple.

The showcase of Holy Land is the Scriptorium. The Scriptorium is a non-sectarian library and research center. This is a $12 million, 18,000 square foot, two-story facility that features a themed, 60-minute, walk-through experience plus a rotating exhibit, chronicling the origin and history of the Bible.

Guests to Holy Land should also not miss Kidventure which is a place just for children. This area features a wilderness rock-climbing wall, a cool and refreshing misting station, the Kidventure Tradepost that is filled with toys and gift for young guests and the Kidventure stage where kids are the stars.
